 On Friday, October 5th, the Lake Mills L-Cats football team, played the Lodi Blue Devils for their homecoming. Throughout the entire week, hopes were high for an L-Cat victory, but when it actually came to down to the game, Lodi proved to be victorious. The L-Cats did not give up without a fight through. They played hard for all four quarters, but they could not stop the Blue Devils.
The first quarter proved to be the best quarter for Lake Mills. The Blue Devils were able to score a quick touchdown, but the L-Cats came back just as strong. The only touchdown for the night by the L-Cats was scored by a complete pass to Jordan Yandre, who continued to sprint down the field, and into the end zone. Lake Mills was unable to do a repeat performance of this play and anything of the sort for the rest of the game, although Jake Day did finish the game with plenty of rushing yards.
In fact, the game simply went down hill for the L-Cats from this point. Lodi was able to score on the next drive. With the score being 14-7, Lake Mills still had a large opportunity to win. This opportunity was thrown to the wind though, when the L-Cats defense couldn’t stop Lodi. While the L-Cats fought hard, Lodi had an excellent passing game, that Lake Mills just couldn’t cover. While Lake Mills did everything they could to try to win their homecoming game, they were just unable to put together any plays against Lodi. The final score was 42-7, Lodi.
