 On Saturday, October 13th, Lake Mills traveled to Watertown to take on the Luther Prep football team. Both the Lake Mills offense and defense were playing at the top of their game on Saturday, resulting in a Lake Mills victory. Luther Prep did not give up without a fight though, and the game remained close throughout the entire playing time, especially during the first half. Lake Mills were able to outplay Luther Prep in the end, with the final score being 17-10, Lake Mills.
The game remained scoreless throughout the first quarter, but, as soon as the second quarter came about, both teams scored a touchdown. Lake Mills scored the first touchdown of the game with a quick pass to Nate Siegel, who then continued to run the ball into the end zone. With the last few minutes of the first half ticking away, Lake Mills scored a quick field goal, resulting in a half time score of 10-7, Lake Mills.
After half time, the Lake Mills defense really went to work. Lake Mills was able to force a fumble at a crucial moment in the game, when Luther Prep was close to scoring a touchdown. Nate Siegal also intercepted the ball when Luther Prep was in scoring position. The Lake Mills defense only allowed Luther Prep to score a field goal, while Lake Mills was able to score another touchdown in the fourth quarter with a quick pass from Travis Meyers. Lake Mills played an excellent game on Saturday, and was able to win its third away game.
