Our Highland High School DECA chapter celebrated National DECA Week recently. It ran from Monday, October 8th ,through Friday the 12th. The middle school DECA chapter was involved, as well.

Actually, we started the week off a little early with a pizza party in our cafeteria on Friday the 5th. During the following week, we held various activities to try and inject a bit of fun into each day. We began on Monday with a "Strongest Man" competition. On Tuesday, we had a shuffleboard tournament. Wednesday was the day for our yearly "Penny Race" (when students push pennies across the floor with their noses). On Thursday we had wheelbarrow races, and on Friday we showed all of our teachers how much we appreciate them by delivering Smarties (candy) to their rooms.

We had previously ordered new DECA t-shirts for this year, which just happened to arrive in time to close out our week. On the front they read, "Not in DECA?" and on the back, “What the Hecka!”
