 Fresh off the big first round win, only four days later the Cardinals hosted unbeaten Lakeside Lutheran. As they did in the first game, the Cards came out hot, again scoring on their first offensive play with a Lincoln 80-yard TD run, followed by a Jim Covert 53- yard run. Also, as in the first game, they failed to convert on the point-after tries, ending the first quarter 12-0 again. As the second quarter started, Gary McAdory added a score from four yards out on a drive that went 99 yards. This time Elias Klar converted on the extra point, getting the Cards on track. Lakeside did manage to get some points on the board with a two-yard TD pass. However, the Cardinals answered again with yet another touchdown from McAdory, this time from 9 yards out. Covert hooked up with Menehan for the two-point conversion, and the halftime score was 28-7 Cards. As the teams came out of the half, it was obvious the Cardinals weren’t satisfied yet, as they added another long TD run from Tyler Lincoln, this one from 44 yards away. Klar’s kick was once again a good one. And just to make sure Lakeside Lutheran wasn’t going to make a comeback, Covert hooked up with Frost for a 43-yard TD pass, making the score 42-7 after the Klar kick. Lakeside did put together another score, however, as they have done so many times, the Cards answered with a Lincoln 15-yard TD rush. Final score 49-14
