During the last two weeks before Christmas break, the Honor Society sponsored "Operation Christmas Cards." Students at Abundant Life Christian School worked together to show their support for our USA troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, encouraging them and reminding them that we care and think about them. The student body made a total of 2,708 Christmas cards. We sent 1,000 to the Army, 906 to the Marines, and 800 to the Air Force.
The Christmas cards were handmade out of construction paper and decorated with markers, crayons, and other decorations, making them very colorful and creative. From a snowman on a beach to the Nativity scene, students at Abundant Life expressed their well wishes, praying that God would keep them out of harm's way. The Honor Society also included items that were on their "wish list," such as DVD's, beef jerky, candy canes, peanut butter, and playing cards. We hope that the troops have been blessed by our cards and that they may spend next Christmas at home with their family and friends.
