 The Madison East Purgolders Boys Basketball team is better than their 5-10 record. The Purgolders where expected to finish fourth in the Big 8 conference, who is currently raked 6th. The season isn’t over yet but it’s a disappointing one with losses to Janesville Parker, Beloit, Stoughton and West. “We have to play a complete game, not one good half. Four quarters of smart basketball, we know we could do it, the last game we won we played a complete game,” says East varsity coach Rich Cleveland. He was referring to the win over third ranked Janesville Craig.
The Purgolders are set to play the Sun Prairie Cardinals at Sun Prairie to night at 7:30 The Purgolders beat the Cardinals in the last match up. “If we come to play smart, with no turnovers and do all the other little things it takes to win, we would win,” says senior Al Mayne. Mayne made a good point because when the Purgolders have fewer than ten turnovers they have won all of their games.
