 Within the bowels of the East High Music Wing dwell the devoted members of Encore Show Choir, who on January 26 faced off against some of the top Show Choirs in the state.
Leaving East at 8:30 a.m., these devoted performers had to return to pick up a tardy trumpet player. Arriving at Sauk Prairie high School, they immediately went to business: preparing to awe the judges.
As emotions skyrocketed, the Encore Show Choir performed with high hopes. Five hours later, they would discover how they did.
At 4:30 p.m. the results came. East had made it to the finals with “an amazing show.” A little while later, another surprise came: East had won Best Band.
Encore went on to place sixth in the final competition.
A week later, Drew Wolff went on to win Best Male Vocal at the New London Invitational. He performed The Impossible Dream from Man of La Mancha.
