The Lake Mills cross-country team once again ran with an extreme amount of speed at the Conference Meet on Tuesday, September 18. The entire team ran with their entire hearts, and gave a wonderful performance.
The cross-country girls performed extremely strong on Tuesday night, with an overall fourth place. In fact, Denay Hering, who ran her way to state last year, finished the race first with an overall time of fifteen minutes and eighteen seconds. Hopefully this year, Denay Hering will be able to have a repeat performance of last year. Another strong runner for the girl's cross-country team was Kelsey Ostrowski, who finished eighteenth at the end of the race with an overall time of seventeen minutes and forty-three seconds.
The boy's cross-country team ran with just as much speed as the girl's team. With their excellent performance, the boys were able to place third at the meet. The Lake Mills boy's cross country team had just as strong of runners as the girls, with Beau Hering placing fifth, Alex Brandon finishing in tenth place, and Harley Pyles finishing as the nineteenth runner. The team will once again try their luck at the Portage meet next Tuesday.
