Madison East Varsity Basketball Defeats Sun Prairie 73-56

On Thursday January 31st, the Madison East varsity boy’s basketball team defeated the Sun Prairie Cardinals 73-56. This was a big win in what has been a difficult season for the Purgolders. They are 4 and 8 in the Big 8 conference, and 6 and 10 overall. Keeping the lead in games has been a somewhat difficult task for East this season. In this game however, East was able to get a big lead in the first quarter by outscoring Sun Prairie 24-5, and they never looked back. East continued to pull away in the fourth quarter. Sophomore Marquis Mason led the team with 21 points, and senior Al Mayne scored 18.
