FOX47 NEWS - Tyson Foods Plant Scaling Back
The Tyson Foods plant in Jefferson is back open after flooding damaged the plant, forcing company officials to close the plant.
The plant may be back open, but nearly half of the plant's employees were told they are being laid off.
The company is permanently scaling back production, which leaves more than 200 of the plants 480 workers jobless.
Tyson Foods vice president says the company is sad to see the jobs lost, but the flood damage was too extensive to bring in new equipment.
The plant closed on June 11th and just reopened last week Wednesday.
