MADISON (WMSN) -- The Wisconsin chapter of the American Parkinson's Association is trying to spread the word about a new effort they're making to help those suffering from the disease.
The organization held a wine tasting event tonight to raise money to benefit a free exercise program, held every week at the harbor athletic center.
The program gets people who are suffering from Parkinson to get active, something that can be hard for those who don't know about the disorder.
"The primary signs and symptoms that come out are movement so movement becomes slower and slower as the disease progresses," said Michelle Ciucci, with the American Parkinson's Association.
The classes cost the organization more than $300 a week.
