MADISON (WMSN) -- An organization in Verona is showing you can face anything, with the help of horses.

Tracy Miller says until last Fall, it had been years since she'd been near a horse.

"It was a little intimidating - especially working with this big guy. The next time I worked with her I was [going to] let go of the fear I had and the experience was completely different," said Tracy Miller, Madison Resident.

She says she realized what she learned in the ring, she had to take into real life.

"At the time I was experiencing chronic pain from arthritis and I needed to have a hip replacement. It was after the second time working with the horse that I actually scheduled the surgery," said Miller.

Tracy isn't alone. More than 75 people have come out to A Stable Path over the past two years. They hope to reach our to more organizations in Dane County to offer this unique program.

"We can see better relationships, improved communication in families,"said Jo Winston, A Stable Path Co-Facilitator.

Jo Winston and Kirsten Engel are certified in teaching anyone personal awareness through horses, meant for people to improve their personal lives.

"Everything is on the ground. We say choose a horse take it on the lead rope and go investigate these scary objects. Then we'll say if there were something scary in your life - this scary thing - what would it be? How did you get the horse to overcome their fear?" said Winston.

"They're good at pointing out our strength also - showing us what we're good at," said Kirsten Engle, A Stable Path Co-Facilitator.

For Tracy, she says it's meant improving her life.

"It teaches lessons about ourselves that we sometimes can't learn from human beings!" said Miller.
