Madison- The Madison Capitols hockey team drops the puck for their inaugural season October 3rd in Fargo.  Their home opener is October 18th against Cedar Rapids.  But before all of that, the team needs players... and uniforms for the players to wear.  Wednesday the Mad Caps unveiled the home and away sweaters for Madison's newest team.  The color scheme is a mixture of navy blue, Columbia blue, and white, with the state Capitol building in the center of the jersey.

The schedule is nearly all Friday/Saturday/Sunday games, but there won't be any conflict with Badgers or Packers football games.  With regard to Badgers hockey, the Capitols maintain that they "compliment" Wisconsin's games.

Head coach Luke Strand is happy to be one step closer to getting the season underway.

"Unveiling the jersey is a big step.  It's us.  It's our signature about who we are.  I'm expecting to win.  I'm expecting to hit the ground running.  I'm really expecting to make an impact on the community.  As our players will, as our staff will, and as our franchise will.  That for us is where we want to be.  We want to be a leader in that area and we will do so accordingly."
