Madison- UW Badger running back Montee Ball was assaulted early Wednesday morning (around 2:15 A.M.) in 500 block of University Ave.  The 2011 Heisman finalist was reportedly knocked to the ground by five men before being kicked in the body & head.  Ball was taken to the hospital and released.  The police are treating it as an unprovoked attack, and they don't believe Ball knew his attackers.

UW head football coach Bret Bielema says he expects Ball to make a full recovery, and Ball will be with the team when they report for training camp on Sunday.
