Madison- The Minnesota Vikings are one step away from finalizing a new $975 million stadium that would keep the team in Minneapoils.  Less than 48 hours after the House approved the measure, the Senate voted 36-30 to approve the plan.  If Governor Mark Dayton signs the bill- which he said he will, the project is a full go.

The team would pay 49% of the construction bill.  That leaves around $500 million to be paid by the public (divided up between the city of Minneapolis and the State). The Vikings have called the Metrodome home since 1982.
