MADISON, Wis. - The six people involved in a what police call a “violent home invasion” on Madison’s east side at the end of February made their initial court appearances Tuesday.

Eric Bass, 23, Kristopher Hughes, 20, and Michon Thomas, 22, broke into the home looking for money and attacked the couple, according to a criminal complaint. The 30-year-old man was pistol-whipped and beaten, while his wife was made to perform sexual acts.

The victims had guns pointed at their head and heard the robbers say “someone is gonna die tonight,” according to the criminal complaint. During the robbery, the men took electronics, credit and debit cards and jewelry.

The three men were initially planning on robbing a man who Efemia Neumaier, 21, was staying with, but accidentally broke into the home of the victims, according to the complaint. Neumaier planned the robbery with Thomas, saying the man she was staying with would have a lot of cash the night of the robbery.

After the robbery, Demarco Mallitt, 22, and Hughes attempted to conceal property taken during the robbery, and where caught on surveillance cameras, according to the complaint. DeAndre Mayweathers, 23, drove Bass, Hughes and Thomas to the home, and then transported some of the stolen property after the robbery.

Mallit is charged with harboring or aiding a felon and theft of movable property. If convicted of both charges he faces a $20,000 fine, seven years in prison or both. Mallit’s bail was set at $5,000 and he was ordered to not have contact with his codefendants. He will be back in court March 19.

Mayweathers is charged with conspiracy to commit an armed robbery, and was asked to not have contact with the other co-defendants. If convicted, he faces up to a $100,000 fine, 40 years in prison, or both. His bail was set at $10,000.

Bass is charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery, party to a crime of armed robbery and two counts of party to a crime of first-degree sexual assault. If convicted, he faces up to a $200,000 fine, 200 years in prison or both. Bass will be back in court on Wednesday.

Thomas is charged with party to a crime of armed robbery, conspiracy to commit an armed robbery and three counts of party to a crime of first-degree sexual assault. If convicted, he faces up to a $200,000 fine, 140 years in prison or both. His bail was set at $50,000.

Hughes is charged with conspiracy to commit an armed robbery, party to a crime of armed robbery and three county of party to a crime of first-degree sexual assault. If convicted, he faces up to a $200,000 fine, 140 years in prison or both. His bail was set at $50,000.

Neumaier is charged with conspiracy to commit an armed robbery. If convicted, she faces up to a $100,000 fine, 40 years in prison or both. Her bail was set at $5,000.
