JANESVILLE, Wis. -A bill legalizing a form of marijuana oil will likely be signed into law by the governor. Parents hoping to use it for treatment of a childhood seizure disorder have been lobbying for the bill.
Gov. Scott Walker said two bills passed Tuesday by the State Senate will likely get his signature -- a bill requiring independent investigations of police shootings, and another legalizing CBD oil for limited medical treatment.
Walker signed an economic development tax credit bill into law at the Janesville Chamber of Commerce Wednesday afternoon. After the signing, he said his legal counsel is reviewing both bills, but he's likely to sign them.
"It's unlike other bills and laws that have been proposed elsewhere, where it's not about medical marijuana, not about legalizing marijuana, it's purely the byproduct that would help in very limited cases for things like childhood seizures," Walker said.
The governor said he'd also likely sign the police investigations bill, but hadn't scheduled dates for either.
