MADISON, Wis. - City leaders will be holding a meeting Monday night to discuss this summer’s Rhythm and Booms event on Lake Monona.

Neighbors affected by the event will also learn about cleanup plans.

According to Madison alder Marsha Rummel’s blog, Madison Mayor Paul Soglin did not budget any funds for Rhythm and Booms this year. Madison Festivals, Inc., will be putting on the free event for area residents, and as of late January, they have reached 44 percent of their sponsorship goal.

Capitol Neighborhoods, Inc., Marquette Neighborhood Association and alders Marsha Rummel and Mike Verveer will be hosting the meeting at Capitol Lakes Retirement Community at 7 p.m. in the Health Center Auditorium at 333 W. Main St., according to a release.
