BELOIT, Wis. -- The Beloit Police Department confirmed Terence Doddy, a suspect in two murder cases, was taken into custody Friday morning.

Doddy, 36, of Rockford, is a suspect in the murders of Tonya Bargman, 44, of Monticello, Illinois, and Todd Hansmeier, 37.

Doddy was first spotted in Rockton, Illinois by a Rockton Police Sergeant Friday morning. The sergeant spotted the stolen 2013 gray Nissan, Doddy was believed to be driving, hidden in a wooded area behind a neighborhood bar. The car belonged to Tonya Bargman, one of the murder victims.

As the sergeant waited for back up they said Doddy drove off.

He was later located near South Beloit, Illinois by an Illinois State Trooper. When the trooper tried to stop him Doddy drove off, the trooper followed initiating a pursuit.

The chase involved Illinois State Police, Winnebago County Sheriff's Deputies, Beloit, Wisconsin Police, Town of Beloit Police and Rock County Sheriff's Deputies. The pursuit went back and forth over the Wisconsin and Illinois border, at times speeds exceeded 100 mph.

One man, Alex Laporte, captured part of the chase on his cell phone.

"We were just sitting there on the side and we could see him coming. He had almost lost control actually coming around the corner," said Laporte.

Beloit Police deployed stop sticks, deflating the tires on the stolen car. Doddy lost control and crashed into a tree off Wisconsin Highway 81 near Beloit.

Doddy resisted arrest and had to be tasered to get out of the car. The 36 year old was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Doddy was connected to the murder of Tonya Bargman at an I-39 rest stop near Paw Paw, Illinois.

Officials a rest stop attendant found Bargman at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.  Investigators said surveillance video showed a woman being attacked by a man as she left a bathroom.

Doddy is also tied to the death of Todd Hansmeier whose body was found at a Rockford call center on Monday.

A national alert was issued for Doddy earlier this week. Leading up to his arrest, Doddy was spotted multiple times in northern Illinois.

"We had information that he was familiar with the state and the Rockton area and did some recreational activities there. So I think most people when you're scared and feeling alone you go back to home and where you're feeling comfortable. Who knows what was going through his mind that led him to be on the run for so long," said Rockford Police Lt. Pat Hoey.

Rock County Sheriff's Office will investigate the accident portion of the event. Doddy will face the following charges: operating while intoxicated (1st offense), operating a motor vehicle without owner's consent, fugitive complaint for homicide and aggravated domestic battery for Rockford Police.

Illinois State Police released the following statement.

"The cooperative effort and fast response of our District 16 troopers, Zone investigators and police partners in Winnebago, Rockford, Rock Island, and Beloit should be recognized as solid police work. Our thoughts are with the grieving families who have lost their loved ones and our hope is that this arrest will bring some closure to their pain," said ISP Director Hiram Grau.

A court date for Doddy is pending.
