MADISON, Wis. - A Madison teen drove into a lawn while trying to avoid a speeding ticket by fleeing police, according to a release from Madison police.
An officer said a car was spotted going 56 mph in a 35 mph zone on Packers Avenue early Saturday morning and fled when the officer tried to pull the driver over.
The car went into the lawn of a home in the 3600 block of Dryden Drive and damaged the grass and the bottom of the car, police said.
The car continued on with a blown tire and leaking fluid before being pulled over in the 2000 block of Tennyson Lane.
The driver, Whitney E. Le, 18, told the officer she wanted to get out of a speeding ticket and realized she made a bad decision.
Le was cited on suspicion of speeding and fleeing.
