MADISON, Wis. -A Rockford man was sentenced Tuesday to federal prison for escaping from a federal halfway house in Janesville, according to a state Department of Justice release.

Brock Barrett, 42, was sentenced to six months in federal prison after he pleaded guilty on April 15, officials said.

In 2008, Barrett was convicted of possessing cocaine with intent to distribute and being a felon in possession of a firearm in Illinois, according to the release. He was sentenced to 85 months in federal prison.

On Aug. 5, 2013, Barrett was transferred to Rock Valley Community Program, according to the release. On Nov. 23, 2013, he was reported missing from Rock Valley, and was found and arrested in Rockford three months later.
