MADISON, Wis. - The suspects believed to be involved in a violent home invasion on Madison's east side back in February made their first appearances in court Tuesday.


According to the criminal complaint, 20 year old Kristopher Hughes, 23 year old Eric Bass and 22 year old Michon Thomas broke into a couple's home looking for money. They allegedly attacked the couple, pistol-whipping the man and sexually assaulting the woman, who is six months pregnant. Authorities are not releasing the address of the incident, in order to protect the victims.


The victims described the incident, which lasted about on hour, saying guns were pointed at their heads and that one of the robbers said "someone is gonna die tonight". The suspects allegedly stole electronics, credit cards and jewelry from the home.


Authorities believe the suspects were initially planning on robbing a different house suggested by 21 year old Efemia Neumaier, but accidentally broke into the home of the victims. Neumaier allegedly planned the robbery with Michon Thomas, saying the man she was staying with would have a lot of cash the night of the robbery.


After the robbery, another suspect, 22 year old Demarco Mallitt, and Kristopher Hughes attempted to hide the stolen property, but where caught on surveillance cameras, according to the complaint.


23 year old DeAndre Mayweathers is accused of driving Bass, Hughes and Thomas to the home, and transporting some of the stolen property.


Mallit is charged with harboring or aiding a felon and theft of movable property. If convicted of both charges he faces a $20,000 fine, seven years in prison or both. Mallit’s bail was set at $5,000.


Mayweathers is charged with conspiracy to commit an armed robbery. If convicted, he faces up to a $100,000 fine, 40 years in prison, or both. His bail was set at $10,000.


Bass is charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery, party to a crime of armed robbery and two counts of party to a crime of first-degree sexual assault. If convicted, he faces up to a $200,000 fine, 200 years in prison or both. Bass will be back in court on Wednesday.


Thomas is charged with party to a crime of armed robbery, conspiracy to commit an armed robbery and three counts of party to a crime of first-degree sexual assault. If convicted, he faces up to a $200,000 fine, 140 years in prison or both. His bail was set at $50,000.


Hughes is charged with conspiracy to commit an armed robbery, party to a crime of armed robbery and three county of party to a crime of first-degree sexual assault. If convicted, he faces up to a $200,000 fine, 140 years in prison or both. His bail was set at $50,000.


Neumaier is charged with conspiracy to commit an armed robbery. If convicted, she faces up to a $100,000 fine, 40 years in prison or both. Her bail was set at $5,000.
