MADISON- A UW Health Clinic is aiming to
prevent a startling trend in women's sports.
A group of women athletes visited the McClain center to learn how to
prevent major knee injuries.
According to UW doctors, female
athletes are seven times more likely to suffer these types of injuries than
male athletes. One doctor said the exercises
aren't exciting, but they're the best way to prevent injury.
Doctors said to avoid knee braces if
not told to wear one by a doctor. They said athletes could end up relying on
the brace, which could make them more vulnerable to injury down the road.
