JANESVILLE, Wis. - Police said a 55-year-old woman could barely stand when she was asked to perform field sobriety tests early Saturday morning.

The Janesville Police Department said on officer observed a Ford Escort headed west on Court Street from the Five Points intersection with its parking lights on but no headlamps at 2:12 a.m. The vehicle was also traveling at a slow speed. The officer stopped the vehicle, which struck the curb twice, according to the report.

Police said the driver, Carol A. Begolke, of Janesville, smelled of intoxicants and admitted drinking.

The report said Begolke could "barely stand but tried field sobriety tests confirming her impairment."

Begolke was arrested on suspicion of her seventh offense operating while intoxicated charge. Police said a blood sample was taken and the results are pending.

Begolke was taken to the Rock County Jail where she was being held until her court appearance.
