DARLINGTON, Wis. - A Gratiot man was arrested this week after police said he reportedly made threats against the government on social media.

The City of Darlington Police Department said 42-year-old John Hocking was arrested at 9 a.m. on suspicion of disorderly conduct.

Police said the arrest was a result of threats Hocking allegedly posted on Facebook saying he wanted to blow up a government building in Darlington. The Facebook post also reportedly said he might use weapons against law enforcement.

Hocking was jailed Wednesday and the matter was under investigation, Darlington police said.

Facebook comments lead to man's arrest, police say
