MADISON, Wis. - Three men were arrested in connection to a burglary investigation linked to 17 home burglaries thefts from vehicles on the west side over the last couple of months, according to Madison police.
Police said an officer spotted suspicious activity outside a home while traveling in the 1300 block of Loreen Drive. on the night of Jan. 9. The officer said someone was carrying large items from a vehicle into a home.
When officers got permission to search the home, they found more than 100 stolen items, including electronics, jewelry, credit cards, ammunition, weapons and cash, according to the report.
Zachary K. Midstokke, 17, of Sun Priarie, was arrested on suspicion of burglary, bail jumping and resisting and officer. Jeffery D. Harrison, 19, of Madison, was arrested on suspicion of throwing or discharging bodily fluids at a public safety worker, battery to law enforcement officers, resisting and bail jumping. Adam J. Edwards, 25, of Madison, was arrested on suspicion of resisting, carrying a concealed weapon and bail jumping.
Police said most of the cases involved doors that were kicked in during early evening hours. The targeted homes were dark with no lights left on.
Police are trying to connect stolen items to their owners, and they encourage residents to keep good records of their property to make the process easier when items are stolen.
