MADISON (WMSN) -- Dairy leaders from across Wisconsin are in Madison this week, talking about the industry's future.

People packed the Madison Concourse Hotel for the 10th annual Dairy Business Association conference.

Topics ranged from immigration reform to food safety to environmental regulations.

Republican gubernatorial candidate Scott Walker talked about using the dairy industry as a focal point for reviving the state's economy.

"We're gonna get out of this recession. We need to get back to agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism and make them the lifeblood this state has depended on and will grow on in the future," Walker said.

"Prices right now are rebounding. 2009 was a tough year. In 2008 and 2007, we had great prices. 2010 looks like a favorable year," said dairy farmer John Pagel.
