MADISON (WMSN) -- People all over the Madison area gathered at various locations Thursday night to say farewell to 2009, and hello to 2010.

Down on State Street, revelers braved the single digit temperatures and exchanged New Year's hopes, dreams and resolutions.

"I hope for a Packer win at the Super Bowl, and I hope Brett Favre breaks his leg." Said one celebrate.

U.S. Bank Eve hosted a family friendly event for the 19th straight year. People of all ages enjoyed an "early" balloon drop, along with face painting, live music, balloon animals and video games including Guitar Hero.

U.S. Bank Eve organizers skipped the fireworks this year, and donated the money to help the homeless, instead.
