MIDDLETON (WMSN) -- Tracy Judd would have turned 34 on Thursday.

The night had all the makings of a birthday party -- balloons, lots of people, and even dessert -- but no Tracy. Instead, lots of memories and a community determined to stamp-out domestic violence.

Judd's family held a benefit Thursday night at Scatz Night Club in Middleton.

Judd and her infant daughter Deja Renee, were among four people murdered last month when her boyfriend when on a violent rampage.

Police say Tyrone Adair killed her and their young daughter on December 3rd, then killed two others before shooting and killing himself.

Judd's cousin, Rhonda Armstrong, was overwhelmed by the outpouring of support at the benefit.

"This is absolutely amazing," she said. "We had no idea it would turn out this big. We are so absolutely thankful the community is embracing this."

Embraces were everywhere. After the hugs were shared, people bid on hundreds of silent auction items and bought raffle tickets -- all to raise money for Domestic Abuse Intervention Services.

"To bring something positive out of this awful tragic situation -- that's why we're doing this," Armstrong said.

With images of Tracy and Deja Renee on every video screen, it was hard to forget, let alone imagine the incredible loss.

"She was very strong, very proud, very loving, caring," said Lisa Blanchard, Tracy's sister. "She would do anything for anybody."

"She'd step up in a heartbeat, because that was her heart," said Armstrong. "She was giving. She was a wonderful person."

And for Judd's twin daughters, Kayla and Stephanie Graser, preventing more tragedies may be a small comfort, but, they say, at least it's something.

"From how I feel, I don't want anyone else to feel like that," said Kayla. "It's really hard to deal with."

"They're always going to be in our hearts," Stephanie said. "No one's ever going to forget them. We're always going to remember the good memories and good times."
