Who Can Enter
1. To be eligible to participate in this contest, entrants must be 14 years of age or older and reside in the WMSN viewing area, and nominees must be U.S. residents who are 14 years to 18 years of age and have not yet received their high school diploma or G.E.D. Students must attend charter, public, or private school and reside in the WMSN-TV viewing area as of May 31, 2010.
2. Employees of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Company Inc., and any other company which owns, programs or provides other services to television broadcast station WMSN-TV (the “Station”), University of Wisconsin Platteville, their affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, any and all local television broadcast and cable stations, local radio and other media companies, and the immediate family members of each are ineligible.The term “immediate families” includes spouses, grandparents, parents, siblings, children and grandchildren. Only one winner per household.
How to Enter
(a) No purchase is necessary to enter.More than one nomination per student is acceptable.
(b) To enter, nominate yourself or a qualified high school student, log on to www.fox47.com, fill out the form and submit it if you are over the age of 14.. Entrants must describe the nominee’s participation in one or more of the following categories in a 500 word or less essay form: visual arts, dance, music, public speaking, or theater. Alternatively, during business hours Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. request an entry form in person at Fox 47 7847 Big Sky Drive Madison WI 53719, fill out the form and return it to the Station either in person or by mail.
(c) The contest starts on February 1, 2010 and entries must be received by Station by 5:00 p.m. on May 30, 2010. Station is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected entries, printing errors, server unavailability, computer or any other electronic malfunction.
(d) Beginning February 15, 2010 and the first week of each month thereafter, ending June 4, 2010, one (1) winner will be selected by a panel of four (4) judges comprised of Station personnel from among all valid entries received.
(e) All essay entries will judged by a panel of four (4) judges comprised of Station personnel based on the following criteria: amount of time and effort spent in the arts discipline(s) of choice (50%), what their goals are for furthering their skills in the arts (50%). The decision of the judges shall be final. The Station and judges reserve the right in their sole discretion to disqualify any entry.
(f) All entries received that are mutilated, tampered with, illegible, or from ineligible entrants will be void. All entries become the property of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., University of Wisconsin Platteville, and Sinclair Television Company Inc., and will not be acknowledged or returned.By entering, entrants agree to receive information from the University of Wisconsin Platteville.
The Prize
1. Five (5) Scholastic Arts Students of the Month will be selected. The Winners will be interviewed on Fox 47 News at 9 for the Scholastic Arts news segments. The Winners will also be featured in thirty (30) second vignettes broadcast on Fox 47 and posted on fox47.com.The value of the prize cannot be determined.
2. The winner must appear for taping on a date and time as determined by the Station.If a winner does not agree to participate in the production of the news segment or vignette, then another winner may be selected at the Station's discretion.
3. Winners will be notified by phone.Winners must timely sign and return an appearance release signed by their parents and return it within three (3) days of notification. If a winner is a minor, then the winner’s parents or guardian must sign a release and affidavit of eligibility before the winner receives his or her prize. Station reserves the right to examine additional identification and may choose to accept or deny awarding the prize based on the identification presented.
4. Winners will be contacted by the Station by the 15th of each month February 2010until May 2010.If a winner cannot be contacted within three (3) days, does not sign and return the affidavit of eligibility within three (3) days, or provide adequate or required proof of participation in the arts, then the judges may, in their sole discretion, select an alternate winner.
5. There will be no substitutions or cash alternatives for prizes except at the sole discretion of Station.The Station has the right to substitute a prize of similar value.No transfer or assignment of prizes is allowed.
6. The winners are responsible for any taxes related to the prize based on the estimated retail value of the prizes as set forth in these rules.
7. Sinclair Television Company Inc., Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. are not liable if the provider of any part of the prize fails to satisfy its obligations to furnish its portion of the prize.
8.Sinclair Television Company Inc., Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc., University of Wisconsin Platteville, are not responsible for any liabilities arising directly or indirectly from the award or use of the prize.
9.In claiming your prize, you acknowledge that Sinclair Television Company Inc., Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. have the right to publicize your name, character, likeness, photograph, voice and the fact that you are the winner for promotional purposes without financial remuneration.

2.For a list of prize winners, send a separate, self-addressed, stamped envelope to Fox 47 Scholastic Arts Students 7847 Big Sky Drive Madison WI 53719 by July 30, 2010.
3.This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited. Sinclair Television Company Inc., Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc., University of Wisconsin Platteville accept no responsibility or liability in connection with any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance, possession or use of any prize awarded hereunder.
4.Station cannot be held liable for any lost or stolen entries, prizes or contest information.
5.Station reserves the right to make rules and contest changes and change the aforementioned contest dates.
