MADISON (WMSN) -- 17 year old Lexi Evans Krueger is FOX 47's first student to be honored in the "Scholastic Arts Spotlight".

The person who nominated her wrote, "Watching Lexi dance is like watching swans glide over a glassy pond. She's a pint-sized princess on stage."

Lexi started clogging with her Grandmother at age 2, and started taking dance lessons at age 3. She is a natural talent, but according to her Grandparents, she is also a very hard worker, and it shows. "It almost puts tears in my eyes sometimes, because you can see she's a super, dynamic dancer." Says her Grandfather, Armand Krueger.

Lexi's grandmother says she has endless determination, and does not take not for an answer. As a child Lexi said she wanted to dance the Nutcracker "on the big stage", and she did. She said she wanted to dance at Disneyworld, and she did. "She's made me eat more of my 'You can't do that' than anyone I've ever seen!" Cheri Krueger says.

Lexi credits her Grandparents/guardians with giving her the confidence to believe in herself. "My Grandparents are AMAZING." She says. "They've supported me through everything. If I wanted to become a rock star tomorrow, they'd say 'Go for it!'."

As a Senior at Madison East High School, Lexi started a new, Varsity Hip Hop dance team.

She's been dancing at Kehl School of Dance for years. Jo Ann Uhalt Janus of Kehl says for Lexi, the sky's the limit. "She's just a great person and she's fun and she's going to take the world by storm!"
